Collections: Parish collection last weekend amounted to ?2,030. Church Restoration Fund amounted to €1,731. Thank you for your generosity. Collection for Peter's Pence will be taken up next Sunday (Envelope supplied in your box of envelopes).
Blessing of Graves will take place in Clonmany at 4pm. and Urris at 5:30pm. today, Sun. June 16. Everyone is asked to bring a little holy water to sprinkle on the grave during the blessing.
Padre Pio: To mark of the newly canonised saint the Rosary and prayers will be recited in his honour in the Gap at 8pm. this evening, Sun. June 16. We would like everyone to come along.
Sympathy: We offer sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Mary Doherty, Crossroads, Urris, and Packie McEleney, Cloontagh, both of whom died recently. May they rest in peace.
Visitation of the Sick: Fr. Farrell will attend his sick on Monday of this week. 1st Anniversary Masses: 8pm. Mass in St. Mary's Church on Fri. June 21 will be offered for Susan Doherty, Tandragee, on the first anniversary of her death. 7pm. Vigil Mass in St. Mary's Church next Sat. June 22 will be offered for Daniel Doherty, Cleagh, on the first anniversary of his death. May they rest in peace.
Carmelite Retreat Centre: One Day Retreat for Senior Citizens and their friends on Thurs. June 27 from 11am. - 5pm. Theme for the day is "Healing through the Heart of Jesus and Mary". McGlinchey School Competition "Clonmany in Old Photographs" Every house in the parish has a drawer or box with old photographs gathering dust. Some of them contain valuable information of days gone by, of long disappeared houses, people at work, social functions and gatherings. Choose one of your old photographs and write a brief description (100 words or less) on why it may be of interest to future generations. Entries should be given to Noelle Doherty, Principal, Gaddyduff N.S. It's open to everyone and the closing date is Fri. June 28. Don't forget to include your name and address on your photos so that they can be returned. McGlinchey Summer School will be held this year on July 5, 6 & 7. The theme is Borders, Boundaries and Divisions and the opening talk on Friday evening will be given by Nobel Poet Laureate Seamus Heaney.
Annual Sponsored Walk in aid of the Church Restoration Fund will be held on Sun. June 30. Sponsor Cards are now available from Eddie Gill, 76781, Joe Farrell, 76841 or Kathleen 76114. Everyone is welcome to take part. Refreshments will be available in St. Mary's Hall afterwards. I.C.A: There are still a few places left on the I.C.A. Outing to "Atlantic Drive" on Thurs. June 20. Tidy Towns: That time of the year is now upon us when the judges of the Tidy Towns will be coming to inspect Ballyliffin Village. We would request everyone therefore to make a special effort to keep the village tidy again this year by picking up their own litter and making sure their own properties look well.
