Questions people ask - Somewhere in the Gospel it says that heaven and earth will pass away. What does this mean? I thought heaven was for eternity. The full text is 'Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away' (Mark 13:31). What is meant by heaven and earth in this text is the firmament above us and the world beneath our feet. All this physical world will pass away but the words of Jesus belong to all times. His teaching does not change with passing fashions. At last we understand that God is Father. He did not put us on earth to collect merits and rewards, but to discover that we are his children. On the contrary, God is with all of us in our experiences of good and of evil, until he can call us his children, thanks to his only son, Jesus. Note this marvellous sentence: "I have sinned against God and before you". Father, forgive me for the many times that I have given bad example to others.
