Second Sunday of Advent December 10, 2000
A voice cries out in the wilderness… "Prepare the way of the Lord!" John the Baptist was Jesus' first cousin. He was the last of the prophets. John prophesied that the Messiah was coming and that everyone was to get ready for this very special time. There's an old saying in Irish … "Tús maith - leath na hoibre!" which means that if we make a good start, then the job is half done! So we should make a good start now that we're at the second Sunday of Advent. If we prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus at Christmas, then we will be really full of God's Grace at this special time!
